What Is Medical Cannabis Reciprocity in New York?

New York State has officially launched a medical cannabis reciprocity program, authorized by the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM). Starting July 22, 2026, registered medical cannabis patients from other U.S. states are welcome to purchase medical cannabis products at licensed dispensaries in New York, including all RISE NY locations, without needing to register with the New York medical program.

Think of it like a driver's license: your home state credential is recognized here. As long as your card is valid and you have the right ID with you, you can shop.
